By helping the lab turn the complexity of measurement science into simple language that engages non-specialists we have supported just about every part of the organisation – from its relationships with government, to its business development team. We have generated press coverage in more than 300 newspapers, industry magazines, radio stations and TV channels around the world. We have written case studies, launched new lab projects, and raised NPL’s profile with policymakers, business leaders, celebrity advocates of science and other research facilities.
One of the special projects involved generating national media coverage for World Metrology Day, resulting in coverage on Radio 4’s Today Programme, BBC News Online, and the Daily Telegraph. The AprilSix Proof campaign reached more than 20 million people worldwide and prompted favourable mentions from former Science and Innovation Minister Lord Drayson and BIS through social media networks.
