The UK government hosts an event on the unique challenges of communicating science

On October 6th, the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills hosted an event in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine Public Relations Association (Stempra), in order to explore better ways of communicating science.

Earlier in the year, BIS and CIPR commissioned research into the role that science public relations plays in the science communication landscape, and to identify the challenges faced in relation to the accurate communication of science.

The Proof team attended the conference alongside over 100 other senior figures in the formal science communications community to discuss how the public relations sector can help to address some of the communication challenges that lie ahead.
