UK Commission for Employment and Skills urges employers to get graduates into engineering jobs
The UKCES has called upon engineering employers in the UK to do more to attract graduates into engineering careers.
This statement was made in response to research published on Thursday by the Institution of Engineering and Technology which shows that although demand for engineers remains high, over half of businesses are having difficulty finding new employees.
At the same time, the UK Commission for Employment and Skills’ (UKCES) own research shows that nearly two thirds of STEM grads move into completely unrelated career paths.
The hope is that employers will make the most of the engineering talent in the UK and keep the nation at the forefront of innovation.
